Date: 8 - 10 December 2011
Venue: Sheraton Lisboa Hotel and Spa, Lisbon, Portugal
Stem cell research is a fast-paced area of
biomedical science that offers exciting insights into basic biology and
compelling trajectories for therapeutic development.
This Cell Press
Symposium will highlight recent advances in strategies for controlling
stem cell fate and reprogramming somatic cells, progress towards
therapeutic applications, and new insights into the molecular basis of
pluripotency, differentiation, and transdifferentiation. The meeting
aims to foster interactions between a broad, international group of
scientists studying multiple aspects of stem cell biology.
The session titles are:
- Pluripotent cell states and their regulation
- Reprogramming strategies and mechanisms
- Functional differentiation - directing stem cell fates
- Lineage reprogramming - bypassing pluripotency
- Disease modeling with reprogrammed cells
